"We did find an additional piece of evidence that we may link to Holly, but we're not releasing what it is, of course," said Kristin Helm, spokesperson for the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation told Reuters.
The new clue was found along the road in
the northern part of
ABC News previously reported that searchers had found a "significant" item.
According to CBS affiliate WREG, close to 800 volunteers reported to help on Friday during daylight, falling short of the 1,500 authorities asked for each day of the holiday weekend.
The station reports that the only item found that's been confirmed to be Holly's is her white lunch bag. That was found a few days after she was seen being led away from her house by a man in camouflage.
While police initially believed an abductor dragged Bobo, 20, away as she left for school last Wednesday, investigators now suspect it was a community member who led Bobo into the woods near her home.
Authorities have refused to rule out anyone
in the community of Parsons, about 100 miles northeast of
Bobo is 5-feet-3-inches tall and weighs 110 pounds. She was last seen around 7:30 a.m. April 13 wearing a pink shirt and light blue jeans. Officials ask that anyone with information contact the TBI at 1-800-TBI-FIND.
